Nitinol Tubing

Nitinol tubing is a metal alloy based on a roughly equal combination of Nickel and Titanium. The unique properties of nitinol are it's shape memory and its superelasticity. Modern Grinding is a fabricator of nitinol tubing. We do no manufacture it but we do have multiple options for sourcing it. Please note, custom nitinol tubing sizes (OD and ID) can be very difficult to source for small prototype projects but we are happy to try.

Nitinol tubing is commonly used in catheters, stents, and superelastic needles.

Within nitinol tubing we can achieve extreme levels of precision for inner diameter and outer diameters. Modern Grinding can grind down to .001 level of tube wall.

Nitinol Hypotubes

Modern Grinding has worked with nitinol hypotubes to create needles, catheter and guidewire components. We are able to machine a variety of profile shapes into the OD of the nitinol tubes.

Custom Nitinol Tubes

Modern Grinding is a contract manufacturer. We do not have off the shelf nitinol tube products. All of our products are made to order.

Due to its biocompatible nature nitinol is suitable for use in orthopedic implants. Modern Grinding makes custom OEM wires and pins for the orthopaedic and medical device industry. Wire options include:
