Hypotubes

Hypotubes are ideal for medical components with precision wire diameters. Hypotubes are the backbone of most minimally invasive surgical tools. Modern Grinding can custom manufacture hypotube shafts with Stainless Steel 304, 316 or Nitinol.

Hypotubes combined with custom ground tips can be used to create a variety of medical devices. These types of needles are used for drug infusion to focused areas or for fluid removal. Modern Grinding has the capability to weld tips on to hyptubes to create specialized needles.

Ground Hypotubes

At Modern Grinding our specialty is hypotube grinding. We can grind profiles into the tubing walls such as tapers and steps. We can also grind sharp tips onto the end of hypotubes. We are able to hold tight tolerances which gives us a competitive advantage over the competition.

PTFE Coated Hypotubes

We have applied PTFE coatings of tubes as narrow as 0.007 in diameter. PTFE has a low coefficient of friction for ease of navigation in intravenous procedures. A wide variety of coating technologies are available to maximize hypotube trackability including PTFE coatings and polymer overjacketing.

Tapered Hypotubes

Modern Grinding can apply grinding to achieve step and tapered hypotubes for optimal vascular access.

Hypotube Design

Are you a medical device design firm? Work with our talented engineering staff to understand the manufacturing process and what types of hypotubes are possible. We work with hypodermic tubes and many other versions of hypotubes.

Hypotubes Electropolishing

Modern Grinding can electropolish your next hypotube project for corrosion resistance of stainless steel hypotubes.

Modern Grinding is a custom manufacturer of hypotubes, K-Wires, Steinmann Pins, guidewires, and various custom wire formations. Contact us today to find out about our depth of knowledge in this industry. We are confident we can help out with your next project.
